Central Boston Elder Services

Central Boston Elder Services

Central Boston Elder Services provides services to elders and disabled individuals in the Greater Boston area to remain self-sufficient and in their homes by providing both short and long-term care.

Our Partnership

Together, Central Boston Elder Services and City Fresh became the 1st partnership in the nation to offer daily, hot, home-cooked Latin delivered meals to homebound elders as part of home care services. The collaboration began in 1994, not long after City Fresh first opened as a small takeout restaurant in Dudley Square. Central Boston Elder Services called looking for a way to provide seniors with meals they grew up eating. From this, the work began and quickly diversified to feed more community members with Southern, Italian, Haitian, Russian, Vietnamese, and Portuguese style meals. This work together was the beginning of a real, ethnic-choice meal program for seniors who were unable to cook for themselves.
